GLINACTIVE Tablet belongs to a category of medicines known as anti-diabetic drugs. It is a combination of two medicines used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults. It helps control blood sugar levels in people with diabetes.

INDICATIONS:

Treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus

MECHANISM OF ACTION:

Nateglinide is a rapid-acting insulin secretagogue belonging to the meglitinide class. It stimulates insulin release from pancreatic beta-cells in a glucose-dependent manner, primarily targeting postprandial (after-meal) hyperglycemia. Metformin inhibits mitochondrial respiratory chain complex I, leading to decreased ATP production. This results in an increased AMP:ATP ratio, activating AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK), which suppresses the expression of genes involved in gluconeogenesis

DOSAGE:

1 Tablet twice or thrice a day, based on the condition of the patient
