CATADICT (Clonidine) belongs to the class of medicines called Antihypertensives.It works in the brain to change some of the nerve impulses.

INDICATIONS :

Hypertension (high blood pressure)

Migraine Attacks

Hot flushes During Menopause.

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

(Trouble paying attention, controlling impulsive behaviours (may act without thinking about what the result will be), or be overly active.)

MECHANISM OF ACTION :

CATADICT (clonidine ) belongs to the group of Anti-hypertensive medicines called Alpha-2 agonist .It is used in the management of high blood pressure and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in children above 6 years.

Clonidine relaxes and widens the blood vessels making it easier for the heart to pump blood to all parts of the body. This helps in decreasing the blood pressure and the risk of having a heart attack or stroke.

It also helps in treating ADHD by affecting the part of the brain, which controls impulsivity and attention.

DOSAGE : 0.1-0.2 mg/day q12hr; not to exceed 2.4 mg/day.
