MECHANISM OF ACTION:

DIVOPEACE (Divalproex sodium / Valproic acid) exhibits its pharmacologic effects in a couple of ways, such as by acting on GABA (? aminobutyric acid) levels in the CNS, blocking voltage-gated ion channels, and inhibiting histone deacetylase. These combined actions help in restoring the normal activity of the brain.

DOSAGE:

Initial dose: 750 mg/day in divided doses.
