PSYCHOTIL (Prochlorperazine) maleate belongs to a class of antipsychotic medications called conventional antipsychotics

INDICATIONS :

Morning sickness / Vertigo

Anxiety disorder

Nausea and vomiting in migraine

Schizophrenia

MECHANISM OF ACTION :

PSYCHOTIL (Prochlorperazine) maleate contains Prochlorperazine maleate that inhibits dopamine secretion that induces the vomiting centre (chemoreceptor trigger zone ? CTZ) located in the brain. Thus, Prochlorperazine maleate prevents nausea and vomiting and it also controls psychotic symptoms in Schizophrenia and has a calming effect on people suffering from anxiety or mania.

DOSAGE :

Usual dose: 5 to 10 mg orally 3 to 4 times a day.
