Lactulose oral solution USP

LACTULOOP (Lactulose) belongs to the group of medicines called laxatives used to treat constipation.

INDICATIONS :

Constipation

Liver encephalopathy.

(It is a nervous system disorder brought on by severe liver disease. When the liver doesn’t work properly, toxins build up in the blood. These toxins can travel to the brain and affect brain function. People with hepatic encephalopathy may seem confused.)

MECHANISM OF ACTION :

LACTULOOP (Lectulose) works by drawing water into the bowel and makes the stool softer and easier to pass, thereby providing relief from constipation. Lactulose helps in normalising the bowel movements. It is a type of sugar which is broken down in the large intestine into mild acids that draws water into the colon and softens the stools. Lactulose also helps in the growth of good gut bacteria which help in proper digestion.

DOSAGE : 2-3 Table spoons 2-3 times a day.
