ACAMSPOL (Acamprosate Calcium) belongs to a class of drugs known as GABA Analogues.

USES:

ACAMSPOL (Acamprosate Calcium) is used in the treatment of alcohol addiction.

It reduces craving for alcohol in people who have stopped drinking.

HOW IT WORKS:

Acamprosate works by decreasing cravings and urges to use alcohol.

It is believed to do so by stabilising the chemical balance in the brain by blocking glutaminergic N-methyl-D-aspartate receptors and activating the gamma-aminobutyric acid type A receptors.

DOSAGE:

2 Tablets three times a day, or as directed by the physician.
