AMROFIX DRY SYRUP is a combination of two medicines :

Amoxycillin and clavulanate potassium

Amoxycillin belongs to a class of medications known as penicillin-like antibiotics.

Clavulanate potassium belongs to a class of medications known as beta-lactamase inhibitors.

Both of them are used together to treat many different infections caused by bacteria.

INDICATIONS:

Sinusitis

Pneumonia

Ear infections

Bronchitis

Urinary tract infections

Infections of the skin

MECHANISM OF ACTION:

Amoxycillin acts through the inhibition of cell wall biosynthesis that leads to the death of the bacteria.

Clavulanate potassium works by preventing bacteria from destroying amoxicillin, thereby indirectly providing a synergistic effect.

DOSAGE:

Adults- 250 to 500 mg every 8 hours.

Children – 20 to 40 mg per kg of body weight every 8 hours.

DRUG INTERACTIONS: Consult a doctor before using this medication if you are already using any of the following medicines:azithromycin, aztreonam, chloramphenicol, clarithromycin.

SIDE EFFECTS:

Redness of the skin

Skin rash

Itching
