Cefuroxime 500mg and Clavulanate Potassium 125 mg Tablets.

CEFRORIX CLAV is a combination of 2 medicinal compounds:

Cefuroxime & Potassium Clavulanate.

This combination is widely used to treat bacterial infections.

INDICATIONS:

Pharyngitis

Acute maxillary sinusitis

Chronic bronchitis

Acute otitis media

Tonsillitis

MECHANISM OF ACTION:

Cefuroxime acts by inhibiting the synthesis of bacterial cell walls, it does so by inhibiting the formation of certain proteins in them, thereby rendering them defenceless to environmental factors and ultimately killing them.

Clavulanate potassium (clavulanic acid) is a beta-lactamase inhibitor which blocks the action of enzymes produced by bacteria to inactivate Cefuroxime . Addition of Clavulanic Acid reduces resistance and enhances the activity of Cefuroxime against bacteria.

DOSAGE:

1 tablet once a day or as directed by the doctor
