FLUVATEX 40 Tablet belongs to a group of medicines called statins. It is used to lower cholesterol and to reduce the risk of heart disease. Cholesterol is a fatty substance that builds up in your blood vessels and causes narrowing, which may lead to a heart attack or stroke.

INDICATIONS:

MECHANISM OF ACTION:

Fluvastatin works by blocking an enzyme called HMG-CoA reductase, which is needed by the liver to make cholesterol. By inhibiting this enzyme, fluvastatin reduces the production of LDL (bad) cholesterol. This causes the liver to remove more cholesterol from the blood, lowering overall cholesterol levels. It also helps slightly increase HDL (good) cholesterol and reduce triglycerides. These effects help prevent the buildup of plaque in arteries, reducing the risk of heart disease and stroke.

DOSAGE: Tablet once a day or as directed by the physician
