MOXOTAS (Moxonidine) is a new-generation alpha-2/imidazoline receptor agonist antihypertensive drug, which is used for the treatment of mild to moderate essential hypertension.
INDICATIONS:
Idiopathic hypertension ( A hypertension which doesn?t have an identifiable cause)
MECHANISM OF ACTION:
Moxonidine works by activating I1-imidazoline receptors in the rostroventrolateral medulla (RVLM), thereby reducing the activity of the sympathetic nervous system and lowering the blood pressure.
DOSAGE:
The dose range varies from 0.2 to 0.4 mg per day, based on the condition of the patient.
