Rotsan (Rosuvastatin) belongs to a group of medicines called HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors or statins. It is extensively used to lower cholesterol and reduce the risk of heart disease.

INDICATIONS:

Hyperlipidemia

Dyslipidemia (Abnormally high or low lipoprotein concentrations)

Hypertriglyceridemia (Elevated levels of triglycerides in body)

Hypercholesterolemia (Presence of high cholesterol levels in plasma)

Cardiovascular disease.

MECHANISM OF ACTION:

Rotsan (Rosuvastatin) works by slowing the production of cholesterol in the body by blocking the enzyme HMG-CoA reductase ( HMG-CoA reductase is an enzyme which plays a key role in the biosynthesis of cholesterol in the body).

DOSAGE: The dose range varies from 5 to 40 mg orally once daily, based on the condition of the patient.
