Cefixime 200 mg and Ofloxacin 200 mg

CFIXIT-O (Cefixime + Ofloxacin) belongs to a class of drugs known as cephalosporin and fluoroquinolone antibiotics. It is widely used for the treatment of a variety of bacterial infections.

INDICATIONS:

? Respiratory tract infections (e.g., pneumonia, bronchitis)
? Urinary tract infections
? Infections of ear, nose & throat
? Gastrointestinal infections (e.g., typhoid fever)
? Skin and soft tissue infections
? Sexually transmitted diseases

MECHANISM OF ACTION:

It works by killing bacteria through two different mechanisms:

? Cefixime prevents bacteria from forming their protective cell wall by inhibiting the synthesis of peptidoglycan, which is essential for bacterial survival.

? Ofloxacin inhibits bacterial DNA replication by blocking DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, enzymes required for bacterial growth and multiplication.

This dual action enhances antibacterial effectiveness.

DOSAGE:

1 Tablet twice daily or as directed by the physician.
