DUTASTIC (Dutasteride) is in a class of medications called 5-alpha reductase inhibitors. It works by blocking the production of a natural substance that enlarges the prostate.

INDICATIONS :

Benign prostatic hyperplasia (overgrowth of the prostate gland)

MECHANISM OF ACTION :

DUTASTIC (Dutasteride) belongs to a class of drug known as 5-alpha reductase inhibitors primarily used to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia . It blocks an enzyme that is needed to change testosterone (male hormone) to another hormone that causes the growth of the prostate. As a result, it helps to shrink the prostate and reduce the symptoms like problems in passing urine.

DOSAGE :

The recommended dose of Dutastic capsule is one capsule (0.5 mg) taken orally once a day or as directed by the doctor.
