Cyproheptadine Hydrochloride, Tricholine Citrate, Sorbitol solution

CYPTARYL SYRUP is composed of three medicines: cyproheptadine HCL, tricholine citrate and sorbitol .

This combination is generally used as Appetite Stimulant.

INDICATION :

Anorexia nervosa (an eating disorder with low body weight)

Loss of Appetite

It also maintains Cholesterol Levels in the Body.

Helps to maintain liver health

MECHANISM OF ACTION :

Cyproheptadine is an appetite-stimulant. It works by reducing the effect of a chemical messenger (serotonin) in the hypothalamus, a part of the brain which regulates appetite.

Tricholine citrate is a bile acid binding agent which removes bile acids from the body. The liver then produces more bile acids using cholesterol, as a result of which cholesterol level is lowered.

Sorbitol acts as a syrup base and also as an osmotic laxative to relieve constipation.

DOSAGE :

Two teaspoonfuls two or three times a day or as directed by the doctor.
