DULOKARE M is a combination of two medicinal compounds

Duloxetine & Methylcobalamin.

Duloxetine is a serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (SNRI)

Methylcobalamin is a form of vitamin B

INDICATION:

This combination of medication is generally used for the treatment of Neuropathic pain.

(Neuropathic pain is a chronic progressive nerve disease that causes nerve pain due to nerve damage or a malfunctioning nervous system. The pain could be intermittent or continuous, which is felt as a prickling, stabbing, tingling, or burning sensation.)

MECHANISM OF ACTION:

Duloxetine works by increasing the levels of chemical messengers (serotonin and noradrenaline / norepinephrine) that stop the movement of pain signals in the brain.Methylcobalamin helps in the production of myelin, a substance that protects nerve fibres and rejuvenates damaged nerve cells. Together, they relieve neuropathic pain (pain from damaged nerves).
